I use this strategy to see what my students already know before we begin a unit. For example, I used this when I launched into a unit on perseverance by reading the play adapted from The Diary of Ann Frank. I call my graphic organizer a D.O.T.S. Chart. You can see it using the button below.

This strategy is excellent for concluding a unit. There are several different ways to perform a Socratic discussion, so watch videos of YouTube and find one that you can utilize.
