READING WITH YOUR CHILD
This is such an important thing to do with children of all ages. My seventh grade students LOVE to sit and listen to me read to them, and they LOVE to read to me. I encourage you, beg you, to please go with your student to the library and find some wonderful books. Then you can take great adventures together.
Occasionally, your student will need to do some research for a school assignment. The library has computers for your use and a LOT of resource information at the Resource Desk. In fact, you can tell the person working at the desk what you are researching and they will help you find just what you need. They are awesome people.
Do you need a library card? Visit the Information Desk and fill out a registration form. You must show valid photo identification and proof of your current address. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign your card, accepting responsibility and use of Library resources.
To get a temporary library card from home, visit their online registration page! Temporary online cards give you access to all of the library's online services. These cards are good for thirty days and can be upgraded during your next visit to the Library.
Library cards are free to anyone that lives, works, owns property or attends Washington County schools.
Do you have a fine? Or have you lost a book or DVD? Well, this sometimes happens. Even Mrs. Turner has lost an item from the library, only to find it under the couch several months after paying my library fine. I encourage you to take extra care with items from the library. At our house, I keep a bright purple bag hanging on a doorknob just to hold items from the library. If you have a fine, please pay them what you can until you pay it entirely. Your students will need to use the library from time to time and will need to be able to check things out.
